Future of this Bailout Economy
Its interesting to note how many different colors are being used to refer to money and financials, - green we all know. Then there is "in the red" for companies not doing so well .. then there is Black Monday for the stock market crash of 1987 and Black Friday brings back memories of stuffed parking lots and long line ups at malls so the retailers can finally turn the red inked numbers black.
So is there a crystal ball that one can look through that will analyze this prism of colors and tell us when we have bled enough red ? Have we already hit bottom ? and if so for how long do we stay here before things start climbing back up again. Rallies are interesting but aren't we tired by now of short term tactics ?
Regulatory changes will weigh heavy from whatever comes out of this crisis and business models related to trading in securities and derivatives will get a hard look. People's professional outlook and an entire culture of hotshot Bankers will have to wear and talk a different game this time. This may feel like having fallen from grace but there are also advantages to being at the forefront of something new as long as you are willing to let bygones be bygones and adopt the new future, be creative and open minded. This is time to eat some humble pie and find your way around in a new game where the rules are just getting drafted.
